Green City Market's A (Mostly) Veggie Affair celebrates the vibrant flavors of our farmers' local, seasonal produce. Nine local chefs will represent #TeamVeggie and put their best veggie dishes forward to square off against the ever-so-lustful #TeamMeat dishes from GCM Junior Board chefs. Guests will make a choice to “Cheat on Meat or Go Whole Beast!”

This year, the event introduces a VIP hour from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in which a limited number of guests will have early access to try the offerings of the chefs, bartenders and brewers participating. #TeamMeat will also serve VIP attendees an exclusive dish for this hour while Maple & Ash serve a specialty cocktail with Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut and Belvedere Vodka.

Proceeds from A (Mostly) Veggie Affair go specifically toward GCM's Link Card Assistance Program, which matches dollar for dollar, market purchases made by customers receiving IL SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly 'Food Stamps'). This initiative increases the affordability and accessibility of healthy, nutritious and sustainably produced foods to low-income Chicagoans, while supporting small agricultural producers and bolstering the local economy.
